This is interesting, I wondered myself if the HP ratings on the vacs over there came from that, but that would mean a 5hp vac would be around 3600watts - drawing 30amps! I don't think this is correct and most of the 5hp vacs i've looked at the specs for over there are around 9 - 12 amps, which would be 1080 - 1440watts?
