  • New to this...help with Fine-Cut

    Hello All:

I'm new to this site, so bear with me. I had some water spots and light scratches on my MINI's bonnet (hood to you). So I used Meg. Mirror Glaze 2 - Fine Cut Cleaner.

I used Meg. Polish on it afterwards, but now I have some hazing and mild scratches, which are particularly visible under the fluorescent lights in my garage. In daylight, not so noticable. I would like to eliminate the scratches, I doubt if they're even detectable with fingertips.

So, what product(s) to use next? I am slightly bemused by the array of products from Meguiar's

    Thanks,
    Martin

Re: New to this...help with Fine-Cut

I asked a question very similar to this in another thread in Working by Hand called Using Heavy Compounds by hand. It is a much better choice to use UC, Swirlx or Scratchx 2.0 because they use SMAT instead of DAT. Check out the thread and you will see what I mean. BTW, I also have a MINI, a 2008 Chili Red CooperS. Awesome cars.

I was assuming that you were using the Fine Cut Cleaner by hand.

Yeah, look for some SwirlX to try.

Remember, least aggressive first. Go with the swirl-x.
