I'm going to be detailing a mid-90's BMW 3 series convertible soon, and I've read a few posts about BMW's having hard paint. I'm planning on having swirls that need to be removed, because I know this car hasn't been really cared for. I have Ultimate Compound and some Lake Country polishing pads (white), would this be enough to get the swirls out if the paint is hard? Or should I buy something else to try, like 105?

Re: What to use on BMW?
Typically 04 and up select bmw's have a src (scratch resistant coating) which could make it harder to inflict scratches and as well harder to remove scratches. Don't quote me on the year though, its like 04-06 and up. Go with 105 with a yellow wool pad, then follow with 205 and a black foam polishing pad. You'll be happy
