  • A Black Z06 with questions

Im a newbee with a black Z06. I drive it frequently and I am starting to have very light scratches. I am assuming that if I use colorx followed by NXt it should yield great results. The question is should I apply both by hand? The two tools I have to apply the products are my hand and an orbital buffer from the store. I will be getting a DA later down the road.

Is the colorx alone good or should I coat it with the NXT?

Sorry for all the dumb questions.

    I would do the following.

    WasH
    Clay
    scratchx
    color-x
    nxt.

Never been a fan of the orbitals. Basically they are great for applying wax. You may want to do it by hand.

what year is the z06, and what is the condition of the paint? If you don't have very much experience grab a d/a and some M151 which is a one step and go from there you will notice a little bit of everything. Scratch removal, polish, and a wax finish

Are you referring to D151 PRC?

If it is a new Z06, the paint is likely rock hard, not sure how much improvement you will get by hand.

But a basic detail like mentioned above will certainly help, and keep things from getting worse until you have the DA.

ColorX is a great wax. It is a aggressive cleaner wax that cleans, polishes, and protects all in 1 step.

NXT is a polishing wax and will give you the deepest wet look. Depending on the condition of the surface, if it has swirls and scratches in it, I would use ColorX first and then follow it with NXT. If the paint is near perfect, I would just put 2 thin coats of NXT on the surface.
