Will MF towel edges add scratches/micro-marring/swirls?
Will MF towel edges add scratches/micro-marring/swirls?
For some reason I have this thought in my head that the edges of Supreme Shine towels, Water Magnets, and other MF towel edges will harm my finish. Am I thinking correctly about this, or am I just being paranoid..?
Re: Will MF towel edges add scratches/micro-marring/swirls?
I think some of the microfibers can cause scratches due to the nature of production. As I understand it, microfibers are cut with a hot knife that can cause hard spots on the edges. AutoGeek had an issue with the first set of Shamrock towels, but since went to a border on the towels to protect the paint.
I haven't seen any from Megs like this, although I'm still a fan of the Gold Class microfibers with the satin edges on them over the newer (non-satin edged) version.
I hope this convinced you to take off the foil hat.

Yes, there is a possibility that the edge could scratch, but I haven't had any experiences where it has. When you use a microfiber towel, the pressure of your hand is not towards the end of the towel, but more in the middle.
