Is there any problem dressing trim with UP that has been cleaned with 39 or 40 first? Will the UP cure properly on top of those?

Re: Ultimate Protectant Over M39/40?
I just used the ultimate protectorant for the first time Sunday. On the wifes car, I wiped everything done with apc. Due to time constraints, did not have enough time to wipe down my car. Both interiors look great. You can not tell any difference.quality creates its own demand

APC would be good and cheaper for more general wipedowns first.Michael Stoops

Re: Ultimate Protectant Over M39/40?
Thanks for the input guys.
I wanted to make sure the trim was super clean before applying anything to it and I like how the 40 cleans, but don't like the way it streaks in the rain, so I was trying to figure out the best way to handle the situation.
On a related note, is there anything I can do to remove the 40 that's already on the trim? I used it many weeks back and the door handles and trim around the windows still looks really good, but I am getting the tell tale streaks when the truck gets wet.

A good all purpose cleaner should do the trick. If you haven't tried Meguiar's APC yet, you should. At less than $15/gallon, and the fact that you generally use it diluted 10:1 with water, it's an incredible value for all sorts of cleaning in and around the car, garage, and even in the house.

Re: Ultimate Protectant Over M39/40?
Bought a 32 oz sample from ADS recently. Bad weather and injuries in my car accident have prevented me from getting out and doing any detailing the past few weeks. I did get a chance to use the APC to clean up a nasty pet accident on my couch. It worked pretty well for visual cleaning, but I think the mess sunk deeper into the cushion than I thought because it still smells a little.
Anyway, back on topic- If I understand this correctly, I should be able to wipe down all the handles and other plastic trim with APC that will clean up any of the remaining 40 and then I can re-dress with UP and it won't streak anymore?
