I did some searching and couldn't find anything exactly like the problem I have, but will note some of my findings. First off I have a '03 Silverado and have an odd windshield "haze." Overall looking out the window is fine, it looks clear and nothing is less visible. At times where you can see it if you look at an angle, say you are driving and looking out where the passenger is sitting. At that point what you see is what looks like little water drops everywhere. Most of the time you can't see this though, but at certain times you can and it's irritating to say the least. After doing some reading I'm wondering how to remove it. I don't know if this is it, but I have applied rain-x before, and noticed some people complaining about odd hazing. Regardless of what it is, what is something I can use to try to remove it? I am also not certain if it's on the inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Weird Glass Problem
Yes they somewhat look like that, but you can't really see them that clearly. From both sides it looks like the glass is clear, only under further inspection can you see what I'm talking about, but it does look similar.

Re: Weird Glass Problem
OK, I know what you are talking about. What you are dealing with is hard water spots. The window in the pic I showed just has them more severe. Get yourself a product like Meguiar's M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner. This product is designed for heavily oxidized surfaces and is intended for use with a rotary buffer, but it has special abrasives that suit themselves well for removing hard water spots off glass. If you put some product between your fingers you can tell that it is very gritty. Use that and a terry cloth applicator (gives you more bite) and that should take care of your problem. Put some product on the applicator, work small sections until you can see that the product is breaking down and the spots are being removed, then remove excess with a good microfiber towel. Be sure to clay the windows first, use M04, clean the windows really good to remove any residue from the M04 (a wash may be in order to ensure all residue is removed), and then apply Rain-X or whatever you want to use. Hope this helps!Shane

I think you will get better results with M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner. If you cannot find that then I would get either Ultimate Compound or ScratchX 2.0, you can probably find these fairly easily at an auto parts store or Walmart.Nick

Re: Weird Glass Problem
Alright so an update i did a claybar and the recommended polish, and I think I got some of it but not all. Part of me is wondering if this is on the inside, but I have no idea what could have caused it. This is on my front windshield, so there isn't any tint on it, only a banner at the top. Would the lubrication that came with the claybar system work on the steel wool? Would it be alright to use the steel wool on the inside where there isn't tint? Thanks for the good ideas.
