  • From Colinite to Gold Class

I love Collinite because it is the only thing that can last a winter on my car. Yesterday, the car was starting to look a bit dull and the weather was nice, so I decided to wax it. I thought of going another route and looked in my big 'ole box of detailing stuff. I found a nearly unused bottle of Gold Class wax. I got this as a gift maybe 5 years ago, maybe longer.
It went on so easily and came off easy as well. I forgot how easy it was to use. The glow of the car was much better than it would have been with fresh coat of Collinite 845 insulator wax.
However, I remember this stuff as being short lived.I thought GC combined with collinite longetivity would be my ultimate wax.
The collinite bottle says it can be used as a mold release agent. Hmmm...
I believe that mequiars makes a mold release product. Can this be used as a tough as nails winter wax?

I've used both and while Meguiar's Gold Class is a great product it doesn't hold up nearly as long as Collinite 845.

For winter protection here in the Northeast I've found that Collinite pretty much sets the bar for longevity and protection against the elements, and the shine ain't all that bad either.
