My uncle had a cheap orbital laying around. He finally bought a dewalt so he doesnt need the cheap orbital anymore. He said I could have it but I was wondering if it was even worth using? Its the WaxMaster W109 Orbital Waxer/Polisher. A link can be found here http://www.docare.com/ Thanks for the advice

Re: Cheap Orbital
It will surely make putting on a coat of wax easier. I used a similar orbital from Sears for years before I learned, and bought, the next level of buffers. But beware, you will always want a better finish. Soon you will want to correct swirls and you'll have to buy the PCXP (or similar).John @ HillCityAutoDetail.com

I first started out with one of those back in the 90's and after a few years finally fiqured out how to use it a little better until I found MOL and alittle more money and then got serious.
But until you can get a G110v2 or ? make the best out of it.
First go to an auto discount and pick you up a foam bonnet a micro-fiber bonnet and a terry bonnet and a bottle of deep crystal polish or #7 show car glaze(since wal-mart wont have them). Now go to wally world and get the smooth surface clay kit a bottle of ultimate compound to use with the foam bonnet.
Then you need to apply some polish using the terry bonnet. And check out the thread on how to apply the #7 if that's all you get find(my favorite polish but not just a wipe on and off product)
Last your LSP of choice and apply using the micro-fiber bonnet
Run you a piece of tape down the center of your surface to start you a test spot. Start ofcourse claying-cleaner-polish and protecting.
When you get ready to use it start by applying a very thin line of your cleaner around the outer edge of the foam bonnet. Then proceed to work as if you was using a G110/pc. But apply as much pressure as possible without stopping the rotation of the bonnet.( It might help to use a sharpie and put a mark on the outer part of the foam so you can make sure the bonnets still turning when applying the pressure)
When starting your test spot, remember speed and pressure is going to hurt you on this one so work slower and forget starting with the less aggressive product on this one! go for the ultimate compound. Work it in as best you can and keep an eye an your progress, I'm going to say do 3 applications of the UC. And remember don't over saturate your foam pad like I've done many-many times.LOL! So maybe get a extra one or two! If the orbital doesn't have the power to work the UC in go get the scratchX or the deep cyrstal cleaner I know they will work that's what I used.
And some before and after pics would be great of your test, if not maybe I'll go pick me up another 10''orbital just to try this one out with the UC and post up my test and outcome!
Hope I've been of some help! if you need any more or maybe I forgot something just let me know.''USE THE LEAST AGGRESSIVE PRODUCT TO GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT''

A couple of more questions. What exactly did mean when saying to proceed to work as if I was using a G110/pc?
Also, speed and pressure is or is not going to hurt?2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Cheap Orbital
To be honest I've only used the wool bonnet once when I first got an orbital, and if I remember right it seemed to gum up or maybe I just applied to much product.I will give one another try though.
Have you got a nappa or any other auto stores around your town or even the next town or two?
Will be going to get me another cheap 10''orbital here in a few weeks just to play around with, also I've thought about something that I have never seen or heard about before uising an obital and it's driving me crazy, don't know if it will even work but I will post up a thread with lots of pic of it fail or succeed!''USE THE LEAST AGGRESSIVE PRODUCT TO GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT''
