  • Wal-Mart tire/wheel brushes legit?

I want to get a good set of tire, wheel, and wheel well brushes so I can thoroughly clean those sections of my car. Anyone know if the ones sold by Wal-Mart are ok to use and won't damage anything? (they're the blue handles with blue bristles..)

I saw the Mother's brush set sold on AutoGeek.net for $15, but I'd rather not pay shipping for something like this. Plus I don't know if the quality of those brushes will be better, worse, or the same as the Wal-Mart ones.

Anyone use either of the above or can recommend another brand?

The Daytona Wheel Spoke brush is supposed to be good, just as another reference point.

Or checking ebay for the Meguiars ones...

I love the Wal-Mart brushes, especially the tire one. I have a spare just in case!

The Daytona Speed Master Brush is awesome, however it is not for tires.

I have the Wal-Mart brush and it is fine for what it does. If you keep up with your vehicle, you shouldn't need such a stiff bristle brush for the tires. I use a soft bristle brush with flagged ends for the tires and it works just fine.

Wal-Mart brushes here too. I have a long handled one for inside the fender wells and a couple of shorter ones for the tires and wheels.

FYI, there's a couple meguiar's tire brushes for sale on ebay for pretty cheap.

For some reason one of my favorite things about detailing are the brushes. And because of that I have quite a few brushes, most of which are higher quality and have lasted me a really long time. None of my brushes are from Wal-Mart so I can't comment on them, but I do recommend getting some quality brushes because the last thing you want is your brush tearing up on you in the middle of detailing.

I picked up some brushes from Lowe's, I think it was. One short handled one for doing the wheels, one long handled one for doing the wheel wells. They both have soft, blue bristles.

I also picked up two new buckets.. One is blue for the clean water, one is black for the dirty water.

I have several of the discontinued Meguiar's brushes and I really like them, especially the interior brushes. I also have some brushes from Griot's. I love their tire brush and wheel well brush. I have their boar's hair wheel brush as well and I really like it.

I have all three of the walmart brushes, there is the skinny one for use inand around the spokes, there is a square soft bristle one for the wheels, and a square stiff one for the tires. They work very well and do not scratch!!
