Re: Fresh Paint/Body Shop Safe Products.

Hopefully i get my truck back from body shop tonight, can anyone tell me if its safe to wash my truck right away when i get it home or is the paint too "wet" still. I MIGHT have to use a no touch high pressure car wash, would that hurt the fresh paint? Id follow up with MGC and a wool mitt using 2bm w/ gg

Ask the manager of the shop for his recommendations regarding this. He'll have the most accurate information as to how much clear he's shot, how hard the paint should be, how long it needs to fully cure, and whether or not it might be damaged by washing, spraying, etc. Something tells us, however, that pressure washing is not a good idea.

          Well, heres updates.....

Truck wont be done until Monday now, due to the top bumper cover not fitting like they want it to. However, heres some good news and some bad news.. He invited me to the body shop to check the progress of my truck, so i took him up on the offer and headed over there. My truck was in "detail" at the time, and although i couldnt get a look at the products used, the detailer was using a bath towel to dry my truck . I kept my mouth shut as its nothing i cant fix anyway. When i looked back over, he was using what looked like the same towel on my wheels, then back onto my paint. Thats the bad news, the good news is my truck looks FANTASTIC, like new of not better! Also, the other good news is he was touring me around the shop and i saw M80, M135 and another Pro line spray product, maybe another M135, so i was VERY pleased to see they use the same quality products we know. He was telling me how the paint man was partial to Meguiars products, so now i need to know which member on here paints at the body shop my truck is at!!

Anyway, thats the low-down of my truck in its current state, and you can bet your sweet bippy i will be going over my paint with a fine tooth comb once its back in my possession Monday evening.
