Re: Pictures of wax over NXT 2.0

Yup, I meant my personal favorite #26 (pure carnuba) not M07 (which is glaze, not wax). typing too fast. I know GC contains some polish, but did not know it also contained any cleaner. Personally I would recommend #26 for those who can find it (in many consumer stores but not all), else DC3, since they are pure carnuba wax (pure in the sense of wax only, no cleaner etc).

If GC does contain mild cleaners (like NXT-2.0 does) then it could still be used, but it would remove slightly more of the underlying base NXT sealant. Hence, like you, I would then only recommend #26 and/or DC3 (or any other pure carnubas).

A minor point, but Gold Class does contain slight cleaning properties. Would suggest substituting 26 to your list, although it isn't truly pure carnauba either. My topping was pure wax. Nothing but pure wax.

Carnuba on top, since NXT-2.0 is a synthetic sealant and you want it as your main coat for durability and protection. The Carnuba topping will give slightly deeper look (especially to red or dark cars) at a slight expense of some reduced synthetic protection.

Also, NXT-2.0 has some (mild) cleaners so would remove more of any underlying wax than happens if applying a pure carnuba wax (like M07 or DC3 or GoldClass etc) on top of NXT2.0.

Both ways sort-of work, but the base-coat NXT-2.0 with Carnuba top seems to work much better (on red/dark cars).

Sealant/carnauba is the way to do it. NXT is usually my base sealant with with GC, Souveran or Natty's Red as the carnauba.

*drool* They are just such a great buy! Do you remember when the Miata first came out and people were cramming Ford 302's in them and calling them "Monster Miatas"? Man could those things boogey. Although the extra weight up front probably decreased handling a bit.

    Thank you, Troll.

They've changed quite a bit from my old '99. Aluminum block and heads, hood, and wheels. Six speed paddle shifter, Bose, heated leather seats, traction and stability control, and the top's total up to total down in 12 seconds without having to tug and pull on a postage stamp sized soft boot. Front to rear weight distribution within 26 pounds. Only thing it doesn't have is BluTooth or GPS. I don't think you can beat it with a stick for c. $28,000 o.t.d. for the top of the line GT. You can get a basic soft top for c. $21,000. My wife wanted silver, but some cars just gotta be resale red!

Both cars look wet. Occasionaly I have used #26 after #21. I did not achieve the outstanding results as you guys did. Don't get me wrong, the combo was great. Just did not get enough extra pop to keep using that combo.

Unlike the "Z28-SS", nothing special. The last two years of Ontario Plates have all been 4 letters, starting with "B", then 3 numbers. Some are just easier for us old fogies to remember
