  • Using 205 only

Well I was curious as to what only 205 on a yellow pad could do, so I took some 2000 grit sandpaper and sanded down a whole panel and put two coats of 205 to it. I had great results and 100% swirl and scratch free now. In the process I also managed to pull out most of the orange peel that was remaining. I felt 105 would be too extreme since my clear coat is pretty soft, but 205 sure did do the job. Now I've just gotta wait on my gallon to get here to finish the rest. Pictures to be posted. First time to really use my V2 G110 as well and so far I'm addicted to this thing.

Depending on the paint, I can often do a 1-step correction with yellow foam and M205 via rotary from totally swirled to flawless. Pretty impressive product...

I love M205, M105 not so much. I'm looking to replace M105 with something else and then follow up with M205 for big jobs.

I personally like Ultimate Compound better than M105. I find it much easier to work with. I know, though, that it's not as strong as 105, not by a long shot. But if UC will do the job, then that's what I choose.

I finally have every single swirl out on the driver side, now I wait for more 205 and pads lol Went through two yellow pads but they could still be used again once I clean em. Finished pictures will come tomorrow. The reason for wetsanding again was to pull some more orange peel out and fix some spots around my fender flares that I missed a long time ago. You can kinda see in this picture the bad spots that I fixed:

+1. I just finished a one step correction using polishing pads and 205. My swirls were light to moderate to begin with, but I wanted to use something a little stronger than SwirlX, a little less than ScratchX 2.0, and with a polishing agent. 205 was the perfect solution.

I'm getting a gallon of 205 and only a 32 oz bottle of 105, that I'll need on my suburban as it has some horrible scratches and swirls. Should I finish off with some #21 or NXT 2.0?

Thank You! Only had to use 5oz of 205 as well which I think it pretty good considering I wetsanded a whole side of the truck.

What did you use after M205?
