  • Question about 82, DACP, 3M SMR

    Is there any in terms of bite with the use of pc? Both are available locally but I already have the SMR, just wondering if it would be worth buying.

    Basically, I have swirls and I am going to attempt to use the least powerful first and then work my way up and would like to know where 3M SMR would fit into the blend.

    #82 -> 3M SMR -> DACP
    -or-
    3M SMR -> #82 -> DACP

    Would like to know which I start out with until I get the results I prefer.

    Thanks, Dave

    IMO it goes 3M, #82, #83. I find the 3m SMR to be a bear to work with and more filler then remover. Why else would they make a dark car version and a light car version. If you really want to see how much the 3M SMR fills try applying the dark version to a light colored car.

    Personally, I would just use the #82 with the PC and yellow polishing pad. If that doesn't work go to the #83 and yellow polishing pad.

    If you have the #9, try it first. I know it is rated the same as #82, but I find it to be less aggresive. Good luck!

      Thanks ebpcivicsi!

      I've found that 3M SMR is more of a filler as well the first time I used it. The swirls were back after a month.
