  • Slight Black Haze on Bright Yellow Car

Hi all...I am new to detailing, but I've been using Meguiars products for over a year now. I have an '07 S2000 that is New Indy Yellow. I noticed a black haze, primarily on the plastic bumpers, slighty building up. Is this oxidation and should I try using the clay bar to remove the haze?

    Thanks!

Hard to say the cause exactly, probably not oxidation, just grime.

Not sure what products you have used so far, but would be good to:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. SwirlX

the areas and check the results. Then wax if the problem seems solved.

Thanks for the reply...I've used Meguiar's Wash and NXT Tech Wax 2.0

You're probably right in that its just grime build up. I did take a little rubbing compound and did seem to take it off.

Probably dont need anything as strong as a rubbing compound, just clay and a milder cleaner should do it.

And yeah, your current process has been missing the clay/cleaning steps, so likely something could build up over time.
