  • APC gee wiz question?

I was using APC to clean around the house today. I was just curious whether it has any anti bacterial properties?
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Pretty sure the answer is no.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

as far as i remember, and i remember reading one of the mikes post this somewhere, that APC is a straight cleaner, it offers no conditioning agents, no UV protection, and im sure there are no anti-bacterial properties...however, your deff killing and cleaning away bacteria using it..

I would agree. No antibacterial properties in it that I am aware of.

I was just wondering about the anti bacterial issue as I used it on my kitchen counter. I had a red stain from crystal light juice mix on the counter (white) for over a year now. Nothing I tried would remove it....until APC that is!!! Sprayed on, let sit for a minute. Then agitated with stiff brush and voila! No more stain.

That has nothing to do with anti-bacterial properties, but rather great cleaning abilities.

Any soap or degreaser such as APC, acts as a microbicide. Bacterial cell walls molecular structure consists of oil-based (lipid) chains. So APC combined with any kind of scrubbing action will break apart the cell walls of the bacteria.

That may be so, but there are actual anti-microbial ingredients on the market. APC just doesn't happen to contain any of them.

True and there would be no way to know if you ever scrubbed enough to make it effective.
