  • suggestions for smaller pads

I have the Meguiars G100 along with the 5.5" pads. I have some small areas on my wife's vehicle as well as my truck that I have difficulty getting too with the larger pads. I am looking for a smaller backing plate and pads but see that 5.5" is smallest offered at this time by Meguiars. Can anyone recommend a particular pad and color so I'll know which ones to get. I have my order ready and want to get these smaller pads before I complete it. I will be using M105 or Ultimate Compound followed by M205 then #21 2.0. I will be using Meguiars 8006,8207,9006, and 9207 pads, so I need the smaller pads to be for polishing and finishing as well. Thanks.....

I found some Buff N Shine 3" and 4" pads but the 4" ones come in a heavy, medium, light polishing so I'm not sure how that will compare to the Meguiars that I have (8006 and 8207). I'm guessing the medium would be a safe route?

as far as im aware of
      Meguiar's only makes 6.5, 7 and 8 in pads

never heard of them having 5.5 in pads..

and they just recently came out with 4 in pads..

Even with small pads, some areas just need done by hand.

Yes, sorry, meant to say 6.5, thanks for the correction.

Yes, I just saw the Meguiars 4" pads on ADS, just wasnt aware of them b/c they weren't listed on the online store here. They are either out at ADS or they haven't actually started shipping out from Meguiars yet. Thanks for the info!

And yes, I am aware that certain spots may require work by hand, but any place I am able to get the machine in with a smaller pad, hence the 3" and 4" pads, I will. I have bad arthritis which inhibits my ability to do much hand work and my time is extremly valuable.

Thanks for the quick information guys, I really appreciate it!

ADS has our new 4" pads available for pre order, but they have not yet shipped. Foam wise, they are a direct crossover from our Soft Buff 2.0 pads.

Thanks Michael, I went to ADS after the original post and discovered the new 4" pads. I was very excited when I found them because I am very familiar with the way Meguiars pads perform and the results they produce. I was hoping to not have to get another brand and not get the same results I'm used to with Meguiars. I will be patiently waiting for them to be shipped!
