  • Best Cloth to Use?

I wash my clear coated car with Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash.

What is THE number 1 best cloth to use (in the Meguiars product range) when drying the wash.

    1. Rinse car with water
    2. Wash with Meguiars GC Car Wash
    3. Rinse car with water
    4. Use what type of cloth to dry?

I'll prefer the option that I can reuse. not a cloth that I use once or twice and need to throw away.

    many Thanks for advice!

I use about 3 Water Magnets for my car. (plus a few terry's for the greasy areas).

Some people like the Microfiber Chamois, followed by a Water Magnet.

I have about 10 Water Magnets that I grab randomly and wash after use, and none have needed thrown out yet. Most should be about 3 years old now.

The Super-Glide sounds like our Microfiber chamois.

Odd that there is no Water Magnet, since everything else is there. Perhaps someone from down there can chime in if they found them somewhere, might just be out of stock.

The Supreme Shines tend to be for product removal, like polish, wax. The Waterless ones sound like a larger Supreme Shine.

Here is the one I was saying, notice the waffle weave style of cloth, not plush like the Supreme Shines.

                  Hi FordFairmontAU2000,

Unfortunately you cannot get the water magnets in AUS yet.. I have asked at Autobarn, SuperCheapAuto and various other Meguiar's stockets and they have never heard of them. I even called Meguiar's in Sydney and they said they dont ship them in.. Why? I have absolutely no idea...

Anyhow, I was able to get 4 of them online on eBay with a number of other cloths really cheap. In fact, I was able to get the Supreme Shine MF 3 pack, shipped from the US for less then the cost of 1 SupremeShine at SCA or Autobarn...

PM me if you want the name of the ebayer i got my stuff from. I got MFs, DA Pads, mits and a bunch of other stuff for less then half the price here in AUS from the US...

                  Hope to hear from you..

                    Re: Best Cloth to Use?

It really is a shame that our Water Magnet towels are not available in Australia at this time as they really are great towels. It really does come down to what sells in a given area, and what the importer chooses to stock. If enough people ask for a product, however, it may well start showing up on store shelves. Hint, hint.

As a group, these waffle weave microfibers are awesome for drying a car as they are highly absorbent and very gentle on the paint. You will find that washing and drying before use will help with the initial drying, and that simply washing drying after every use will keep them in great shape and working beautifully for many years.

Don't forget to use a steady stream of water from the hose as a final rinse. This will sheet off the vast majority of water and leave very little behind that needs to be dried in the first place.
