Do you have Meguiar's All-Purpose Cleaner or APC+? I would try one of those.

You could also maybe try using some brake cleaner like this for when you replace your brakes pads, but it may be too strong (I think you are supposed to keep it off painted surfaces...)

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

          I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
          Remove swirls my friends.

I would go with the All Purpose Cleaner. Start out at a 10 : 1 dilution. See how that works. If it is not cleaning do to like a 7:1 ratio, test, then if need be try 4:1 .

              Cleaning

Ensure that the brake callipers are cool to the touch; never use a cleaner on hot callipers, wheels or brakes. Use a pH balanced cleaner just for an extra level of safety. Spray the cool calliper with d-limonene (citrus) based solvent or a Polishing Soap, which contains micro-abrasives; agitate with a soft brush and then rinse off with clean water. Wipe surfaces with a soft wash mitt, sponge or micro fibre towel.

              Protection

Apply a protection to the face of the calliper using a polymer sealant (the melting point of most waxes is too low for the heat attained by wheel / calliper surfaces) similar to that used on your paint
