  • Edge Pad Conditioning Brush ?

    anybody have this brush ?

i always clean my pad on the fly with a terry cloth, however after im done using my g110 my pad always has lots of little terry cloth fibers stuck to the bad in random places..does this happen to everyone else ? anyway so before i put my pad away i like to clean them with a soft brush while the g110 is spinning...i usuaully use a toothbrush but i noticed one time that it almost began to eat up the foam..i got a little nick in the foam from using the tooth brush and i immediatly stopped, the pad is still perfectly fine for normal use..so i want to order this brush by edge as it seeems it is designed for foam pads and wont hurt them, only clean them effectivly..anybody have any input on this ? any users of this brush ?

just ordered it and its firmer than a tooth brush but has more flex so it cant cut in. Its a good buy. I use it with LC pads becaus ethe meguiars are too big and my PC 7424 cant spin it that well. the 5.5 pads work great with a 5" backing pad

awesome..when you turn your DA on, do you apply light pressure onto the pad with the brush and just let the bristles do their job ?

yeah the brush is formulated to be held at a specific angle and i use very light pressure. It just needs to remove the top coat

I've been using this brush for quite a while. Its great and does the job it is intended to do. I use mine while my pads are on a rotary buffer. Gets them cleaner.

I'm very happy with mine! It's a lot safer for your fingers compared to holding a towel against a rotating pad!

I'd be lost w/o my Edge brush. You can use it on a DA or rotary pad. There's nothing else out there (that I've come across) that works as well as it does. I'd buy two, just in case you lose one.

If you press hard, it will cause the foam to "flake" off. But honestly, your pads are going to get "beat up" over time regardless. As long as you are smart with the brush you're not going to do any considerable damage to them.

                        Foam Pad Conditioning Brush

This brush cleans and restores the texture of foam buffing pads that have become caked with oxidised paint, wax and / or polish. The texture of foam results from thousands of tiny hollow compartments. This varied texture provides polishing and buffing power as the buffer spins. Wax and polish get caked in the hollow compartments, making the texture of the pad smooth and therefore ineffective

After every panel use a Foam Pad Conditioning Brush. Place the brush onto the face of a spinning foam pad, slowly starting at the centre and working outwards towards the outside edge. Repeat until the foam is free of polish dust and etc. After about 3 or 4 panel sections switch out to a fresh, clean pad.

No problem. I don't use terry cloths to clean pads, so no. I use the Edge brush.
