  • New car with cobwebs!!!

Hi, everyone, I'm new to the forums. I ordered a BMW x5 2010 6 weeks ago, picked up the car yesterday. I decided to use M205 and NXT wax 2.0 with a meguiars DA (that I brought in October) for maximum protection during the snow. So I started the job yesterday in my garage. I washed the car with premium car wash (meguiars deep crystal wash), then polish the car after noticed the surface the is smooth and no need to be clay. After polish the car, I see some notable cobwebs plus holograms! They were probably made by the dealership. How can I fix the problems? I tried m105, ultimate compound, scratch X with a DA speed between 4-5 but they didn't work. Please give me some good suggestions.

    Thanks
    Johnny

hi there i know what u r talking about
but needn't so aggressive like M105,
M205 is good enough, will finish perfectly, otherwise did u wash off or change your pad, did u over work the product

    check out my attempt

it only takes a little patience and plenty of PASSION!!

The pad you were using can make a huge difference. What type of pad? You may want to use M205 with an orange LC pad or a polishing Megs pad. If a test spot does not show its working, try a good bottle of UC (should shake like lotion, not water).

Hi, guys, I did tried the m205 (I brought a gallon) after m105. I have meguiars yellow foam (regular & diamond pad 2.0 7' on the Meguiars DA (I know I should have used a 5' foam pad to fit properly). Should I try an orange foam or even purple foam pad? I believed the car was washed improperly for at least twice with cheap and worn-out terry towels plus a lot of hand pressure! By the way, KC's, nice job with detailing the Honda. What exactly did you used to get that flawless result?
        Thanks

Do the test spot first instead of doing the work completly. Chances are that if it works on a section and you have great results this process would work on the entire vehicle.

You could start on the test spot with UC + Polishing Pad @ Speed 5
If you get great results on the test spot and remove the defects than you can duplicate this process. Remember to clean the pad on a fly and to work on small sections.

Here area a couple of links that could help out with the technique.

Hi, I tried on the product called speed glaze M80, a cleaner polisher (green color), at a speed between 4-5 and moderate pressure yesterday night in my garage. I did only the hood and checked with flourish lights, still some bad swirls and holograms. However the product called ultimate compound helped a lot with the polishing pad '7 2.0 and at speed 4-5 on a DA G110. Like 90% of the defects were gone. Still cannot tell if I did a good job until I drive it out on a sunny day. Well, the guy on youtube from meguiarsasia did a ultimate compound on the BMW 7 series showed amazing work! I wonder if those defects would come back?
