  • Quick m105/m205 question

I went over my whole car doing each section twice with m105 on a porter cable. Some spots on the car seem a little bit hazy. Will the m205 clean this up?

Yes sir, that's why a lot of people like to "clean up" with M205 -- gets rid of light hazing/micro scratching and such.

        Hey 05Goat ...
Was about to make a post as well but I did my 2007 Tahoe this weekend with the same combination of 105 cutting pad/205polishing pad with a 110V2 and was expecting to see that marring and haze but apparently i got lucky or the paint cooperated or i"m just good LOL!
After the first pass of 105 i honestly could have walked away it was that clean ... i was hovering around 3500-4000 rpms on the cutting pad and about 2500 on the polishing pad... one thing to note about my technique and i have read about taking your time and really working it in and doing small sections, my technique was about half a panel per application with an immediate wipe afterward (no letting it set in or set up) and then off to the rest .. hood was done in about 4 sections.
My only gripe about the 105 was the dusting .. absolute mess ... not sure if anyone has had the same probs but it was a freaking mess ... for real!
Gonna apply my LSP tonight and not sure if it will be 26 or Nxt2.0... can this set up over night anyone?
by the way what was your technique?

This was my first time using m105/m205 via porter cable, so I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. I divided each panel into a few sections and made 4-5 passes with 105 on speed 5 then wiped off immediately. I did the same with 205 and I got great results. I pulled out the car today with no LSP to check my work outside and it looks great with no haze and all the swirls/light scratches are gone. I took my time doing this over the course of a few days because the car is sitting for the winter, so there was no rush to get it done.

I plan on putting a coat of Zaino on the car and putting the cover back on until spring, then add a few more coats and I'll be good to go for the summer. I'm very pleased with the results and m105/m205 was very easy to work with. Dusting wasn't too bad for me either.
