Just because the clay appears dirty doesn't mean its useful life is gone. I have done some horrific vehicles and have never, I'll say it again NEVER had to throw away a clay bar after one use.
You should be getting several cars use out of one clay bar. I usually can get 6-8 cars out of one. You'll know the clay bar is toast when it starts to crumble.
I suppose if your rich and money doesn't matter, you could use a new clay bar on each car. However, I've never met a rich detailer. Well paid, yes. Rich, no.

yeah, i have to totally agree with Colin on this...you shouldnt just devote 1 clay bar to a car and then throw it away..you'd be surprised how many times you can keep folding over a peice of clay to reveale fresh clean sides..i wouldnt stop using the same clay bar until it began break apart or become so heavily contaminated that it would give me a bad feeling to not use it anymore...i've had the consumer line clay last me about 10 carsAddicted

I stop using a piece of clay on paint when it starts losing cohesiveness (can't fold it into itself) but even then the clay still has some life. I relegate the dirty clay to windshield and window duty
