Correct, these are the newer style without the satin edge. Looks like they are not the newest towels as the packaging is a little older, but the towels should be the same?

I'm going to try to exchange them to "detailing" but don't want to get more of the same. Meguiar's is going to help if not (Thanks Brian). I've attached a pic of these towels on top of one I've had for a few months. The edge seems the same to me on both. I don't think either my old (bottom towel) or new (top towel) have satin edges but perhaps someone can tell from the pic. They both look and feel the same, but I can easily pluck tiny fibers from the top towel (Gold Class packaging) with my fingers.

I usually purchase the Meguiar's Quik Clay Kit which comes with a microfiber towel. At one point the microfiber towel included with the kit had the satin edge, it was the Gold Class towel, however a little while ago, I purchased the kit and all of a sudden the towel had changed, no more satin edge.

I do not find the towels feel the same either. The Gold Class towels felt nice, soft and thick. These newer ones seem very cheap, like a bargain microfiber towel you can purchase at any store in bulk, like Costco sells.

From what I recall, the Gold Class ones were made in Korea. Not the case with the newer ones, they are made in China.

It seems like something has changed, there is definitely a difference in quality. I really need to stock up on microfiber towels, however at this point I would feel kind of cheated to purchase the Meguiar's Supreme Shine towels since I no longer see any quality to them.

Re: Supreme Shine towels NOT all the same?

[QUOTE=OBSSEST;379352]I'm confused and not happy with my latest purchase. I bought a 3 pack of Meguiar's Supreme Shine towels from the MEGUIAR'S site, which I LOVE. Not scratching, linting, just great. Been using them for over a month.

Then I found what I thought was a "better" deal than the Meg site and bought 12 more towels from Amazon and saved a few dollars. These Supreme Shine's appear the same, but the package says "Gold Class" Supreme Shine. Maybe they are an older style, or made somewhere different, but they lint like crazy. My car looks like garbage after a wipe down with UQD. They literally leave more lint than the dust I am trying to get off. I've washed them twice to try to reduce the lint, but they're the same. Did I buy some closeout model towels or what?

I just got off the phone with John at detailing.com. We are perplexed as to where these towels came from because they have no record of this order and detailing.com's entire stock of Meguiar's Microfiber towels are the newest style and packaging. John was even kind enough to go do a quick quality check of the towels he currently has in stock. He could not get any lint to come off any of the Supreme Shine Microfibers.
Again, both John at detailing.com and Meguiar's are willing investigate this situation specifically and send replacement towels if necessary. I have been around long enough to know that anything is possible, but on the surface this would appear to be a case for buying from a trusted source.

We have not heard of this being any sort of consistent issue with our Supreme Shine Microfiber towels and I think most members on this forum would attest to their quality. If you have an issue with these towels you are welcome to start a thread with your concerns.

Re: Supreme Shine towels NOT all the same?

I just got a PM from John and responded. This is getting interesting. Whoever posted with the fraud conspiracy probably has a smile on their face right now. I sent John the info from my credit card account, so hopefully the numbers on there mean something to him and he might be able to locate the order. It'd be crazy if I got a fake towel. I didn't keep my invoice like an idiot (who needs to return towels?). I do remember I got a postcard type thing with a detailing.com ad on it in the box, that's how I even knew where they were from.

i really appreciate the help on this. It's not like I've spend gobs of money here, but I really thought I had found the perfect towel for me with my first set. So, I was a bit disappointed that these weren't the same.

For what it's worth, Meguiar's and Detailing.com have GREAT customer service. Who gets this kind of response for towels? I wish you guys worked for GM or Citimortgage.
