A friend of mine who is restoring a 30year old Chevytruck asked me if i could clean up the cluster that covers the gauges !
The cluster was in a terrible state ,covered in black paint ,hazed and scratched .
Look at the state off it !

First i tried to remove the paint with tinner, wich didn't work .
So i decided to sand the paint down with 1000grit sandpaper (dry) because sanding it wet did not even scratch the paint !
After 1000grit .

After that i refined the sandingmarks with 3M wet and dry 1500,2000 and 2500grit.
After 1500grit.

After 2000grit.

After 2500grit.

Then i tried to polish the sandingmarks with PlastX & an orange Lake Country spotrepairpad (cuttingpad) on the DA.
3 passes later this was the result, the hazing was gone but all the scratches were still there !

So i stepped up to M84 & an orange LCpad on the rotary !

Did 2 passes with this combo and then refined with M80 & a white LCspotpad (polishingpad).
Then i applied NXTtechwax 2.0.
This is the endresult !!
