Re: Safest way to clean wheel covers
If these are the factory OEM plastic wheel covers then you should be just fine with Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. Just follow the directions on the bottle - working one wheel at a time is very important.Michael Stoops

Re: Safest way to clean wheel covers
just stick with the car wash soap as your cleaner..there is honestly nothing better that is so cheap to buy...i use soapy and water all the time....i have a suggestion for you...take an old bucket you dont use..fill it up with water...add some car wash soap..and then go and buy a brush like this..
this brush is perfect for the job..the long bristles get into every corner of the wheel. then all you do is dip the brush into your soapy solution and scrub the wheel, dip again, scrub..etc..until your wheels are clean..this is what i do..the brush speeds up the whole process by so much...my rims are clearcoated so i have wheel brightener in my aresnal but i only use it if my wheels are really caked with brake dust just to loosen up the heaviest bit of dirt and grease, then i proceed to finish it off with car wash soapAddicted
