  • Swirls and red leon

    hi lads

just joined the forum there now thought i could get good advice

have a red leon with lots of swirls discovered more of these today while i was polishing it.

have loads of meguiars stuff today i used tech wax 2.0 and the blue wax made such a difference but the swirls let it down

i think i need a medium to high cutting compound as swirl x didnt make any difference i was going to buy a d.a polisher but want good advice before i do.

i want the car to have a mirror finish.

any advice guys would be grateful

    Pics would help.

Ultimate Compound or #105 is the strongest you can really go by hand. A lot of it is also technique. You cant just wipe the product on/off, have to work it in pretty good. How were you applying the SwirLX?

Invest in a DA, you can only do so much by hand. Plus, its much easier with a DA

i think i will but ive one thing putting me off is there much chance i can do damage to the paint with it like ive never used a machine polisher before in my life

How to correctly apply ScratchX to remove swirls and scratches

This link shows applying ScratchX by hand. Do make sure that it looks similar to how you were working on your swirls by hand.
