Do these get handed out @ the open garage and any on the classes? I think it would be really helpful

Why would Meguiar's hand out a chart for competitor's foam pads?

I don't mean just this, but all the Charts Todd has made.

Not denying the helpfulness of the chart, I'm just curious!

          Very fair question.

It is factual based on the data of the actual foams used, although some of that is proprietary.

In these cases it becomes a placement based on experience.

For example, a Lake Country Yellow Pad will remove more defects pass for pass then the Meguiar's Cutting Pad. I have seen this happen over and over, so on most paints, I it as accurate as it can be.

Here is one for the brain to chew over....

The Orange foam from Lake Country is more aggressive then the White foam. It is inherent to the foam, it's design, and it's properites.

However I polished an original paint Shelby 427 Cobra and for whatever reason the white pad was far more efficent and removing material then the orange pad...

I have never experienced this before, but for whatever the reason, the white pad just worked better on that paint with that polish. It just goes to prove there are ZERO absolutes when it comes to detailing and that all charts should be reference material only; no matter the thought and time that goes into providing the most accurate information possible.

Is there a chart similar to this for 3M vs. Meguiar's?

We've never seen a comparison chart showing 3M pads vs ours or anyone else's for that matter, sorry.

Just to add...I spent some time over at 3M's site...there is little or no good info about their pads. I was curious also about how they match up.
