  • Which prodcuts will I be able to use with this polisher???

I have just purchased a Festool ROtex 150 eccentric polisher.

This unit is similar to the Flex in that it utilises forced rotation (like a rotary) whilst also using a random orbital motion at the same time. This machine can also, at the flick of a switch, change to become a purely random orbital machine.....two machines in one!!! This machine is fantastic - was very highly recommended by one of the top detailers in Australia.....see his review http://forums.finalinspection.com.au...ead.php?t=2840

Was originally going to get a G220, but fell in love with these after having a chance to have a play with the RO150, it's smaller brother the RO125, and a Bosch GEX150T at a recent detail clinic here in Melbourne.....

So my question to the MOL universe is.....with this machine, will I be able to use products that are designed for rotary use??? Or am I still restricted to using products that are DA safe???

    Thanks in advance!!

    Dave

Surely somebody knows something?!?! This Festool is like the Flex 3401 VRG, so with the flex, can you use products designed for rotary buffers???

Keep in mind the time zone of many posters.

Had it in 2007, returned it in less than a month as backing plate would fly off under certain circumstances. Google for ZoranC and Festool. Majority of posts about it were on autopia.org.

I am not asking about the quality of the machine, I know it is top of the range, which is why I purchased it.

I just am curious as to whether this machine is suitable for use with polishes that are supposed to be used by rotary.........or if I need to stick to ones that are 'DA safe'....

Meguiars only has a few products that are rotary only, and they are generally older products at that. Any of the new machine products should be fine.

Not sure how wool pads, and that sort of thing would work though.

I agree. No need for the rotary only products.

Some products like M105 and M205 are for both rotary and DA use, so I don't see why you couldn't use it for both.
