When and which to use?

I'm a touch confused about the use of QID and natural shine protectant. What does one do that the other doesn't?
I see from reading posts about these products that QID seems like its used for a quick touchup, as the name implies. So how often would you use protectant? I know this has been asked all kinds of ways, but have not really been able to wring out the answer. Thanks

QID is a cleaner product..it will clean stains and dirt and dust....natural shine protectant and even supreme shine protectant are dressings

And I do believe the dressings have more UV protection than QID. Might be wrong though.

Yes, the proper dressings have the most protection, but they dont do light cleaning as well.

I have found I can apply my dressing, and then a couple weeks later lightly dust with QID, and not lose a lot of the look of the dressing. So they end up working well together.

Now the new QID is supposed to be stronger, hopefully it wont remove all the dressing now.

ok thanks. So basically if you can see dust, dirt etc., you should use QID, then dressing, if needed?

Yeah, it usually turns out better of you arent applying a dressing over a lot of dirt/debris.

I think you can also use QID on other parts like navigation screens. You would NOT want to use Natural Shine on nav. I generally spray QID all over the place; radio, dash, steering wheel buttons, etc and then wipe with micro-fiber. It doesn't leave a slick finish. Hope this helps.
