  • After Full Detail Noticed Some Light Scratches.

Hey, guys. I had done a full detail on my Lincoln Ls 2002. It was in perfect condition but after a couple (2) washes. I noticed some scratches, so i'm wondering which product I should use to get them out. But I don't want to ruin the wax. In between my washes I was using Ultimate Detailer.

    Process of my detail:
    Wash
    Clayed
    Ultimate Compound
    M07
    NXT 2.0

"That's what I used before the scratches from washing".

    Thanks for the help.

    Well, there are two possibilities.

    1. You didnt competely remove the swirls the first time, and now they are showing back up.

    2. You put some back in from washing, or some other cause.

Either way, they are under the wax, so if you want to work on them again, you will have to use the UC to remove the wax and work on the paint. It may be just as well to let it go for now, and try to make sure you arent putting any more swirls in the paint before you go removing them again.

If you have used Ultimate Compound you have used some potent stuff. When you say you see "some scratches" are they pervasive or localized? In any case, you may try to re-apply UC in a **test spot** to see if you can remove them. Depending on your perspective, it may be a point of diminishing returns to try to remove them. If you have a dark vehicle, it can be a unrewarding adventure to remove them all (sorta like golf).

As was mentioned, you're using UC.

I have a dark blue car, which is far from black, and even with UC my paint still has some hazing no matter how lightly I apply it. Following UC with M205 made my paint's reflection mirror-like and crystal clear.
