    Re: New Car?

Something for the future may be 3M paint protection film on the hood and front bumper. I have it on my Vue and it has been WELL worth the $450.

      Re: New Car?

Got my Audi A5 Cabriolet last Saturday.

1 Audi's arrive at dealer in full cloth cover. Dealer did not touch painted surface.

      2. Home two bucket wash w/ Gold Class Shampoo, dry

      3. Clay, I was surprised, given the car was covered, how much difference it made to clay, plus clay was pretty dirty upon finish.

      4. M7 polish w/G110 speed 3, two foot sections, with on the fly cleaning of pad, every other app. of M7

      5. NextTech2 wax, w/G110 speed 3, on the fly clean pad every other app of product.

Note - When the wax dried, the waxy haze was very hard to see, (nothing like either photos, at this forum showing too much & just right) during the swipe test (to determine if wax is dry) it was very difficult to see, the swipe.

Note - I find switching speeds on the G110, somewhat cumbersome & not quite sure what speed I'm at. So initial spreading of product (polish & wax) was done at speed 3, instead of spread product at speed 1, then shifting to speed 3.

I'll post before & after pic's later. The car looks great, what I need is a comparison, to a deep mirror like finish.

      Next - leather treatment.

      Thanks & Merry Christmas
      Rico

        Re: New Car?

Rico, it sounds like you did everything right and started off taking care of your beautiful new ride the way it deserves.

The lighter the color of the vehicle the more difficult it is to see a properly applied coat of wax. In fact, trying to show this in photographs on a white or silver car is almost impossible - so again, it sounds like you did things exactly right.

Certainly you've taken pictures of this new Audi by now though, haven't you?
