Re: How To Save Car Wash Soap

That's how I started, with half gal jugs, but then I found this smaller bucket that had the markings in there. Easier to move around the car, has a pour spout on it, love the little tan tan. You may be able to find one at Wal-Mart or Target.

I think I've seen this one but I didn't think the grit guard would fit in it.

I don't think it will either. It's a square bottom. But i just found this on ebay

Gallon marks on the inside, round bottom. More than a regular bucket though.

When I'm done with the water I always pour it out in some plants or my lawn. That way its not wasted down the drain.
I agree with this also. I don't care how careful you are, some dirt will make it to your wash bucket so I want to dilute it quite a bit to keep it from marring my paint.

Car wash bought in bulk (gallons preferably) is dirt cheap on a per use basis. I am not going to worry about saving a few nickles on washing my car only to spend a few dollars on compounds, polishes, finish polishes, and wear and tear on pads and polishers to remove the paint marring that otherwise would not have been there.

i havent had any problems with it...like i said, i use 2 gallons now and i have a good amount of water still left at the bottom...and i never sink my mitt to the bottom, i only sink it enough to absorb soapy water and i move on...so far ive had no problems with inducing more scrathes into the paint...but i am happy with this method. i just wanted to share my expeirence with you all and hopefully it would make someone else happy too =D. but perhaps a little bit more water is safe
