  • Glass cleaning

when it rains, my rear glass is blurring. water does not bead as it should, like on a new glass. it looks like the water is sticking to the glass. i have tried using the nxt glass cleaner, newspaper, and even clay.

it is frustrating because whenever it rains, i cant see cars behind me, only their lights from their headlights.

should i scratch-x it to give it a little cut? can paint cleaners be applied to glass?

Claying is certainly a good start- but sometimes it needs more.

Many find that chunkier abrasives from "old school" products like M04 are great for glass cleaning. Although, best results are typically achieved via wool pad and a rotary.

If you don't have, and don't want to get other polishes, then try the Scratch-X.

Also, sometimes applying a coat of Ultimate Quik Wax from time to time will help with that problem, too.

UC/#105 would also be options, as Mark said, the stronger cleaners are usually better for glass.

UQD is also an option, as well are all the other glass coatings out there if you wanted to get into them.

UQD/UQW for glass? never cross my mind that these can be used. will give scratch-x a go at it then.

on a second case, what if it is on the front windscreen? i would assume that UQD/UQW/cleaners will cause the wipers to jitter.

I like the Rain-X windshield washer fluid which will work similar to the Rain-X windshield application product.

I used #105 on a "show truck" front windshield. After using the 105, I clayed it again. Just to be sure to avoid any windshield chattering. It worked.

Much like any type of coating, some people get jittery wipers, some dont from UQD/UQW, or RainX, etc.

                  Usually not.

Depending on the type/severety of the water spot, you may need glass cleaner, the above paint cleaners, vinegar. I have had RainX remove water spots.

                    Re: Glass cleaning

it worked! i scrubbed and worked on the rear windscreen with a foam pad and scratchx! water no longer sticks to the windscreen and no more annoying blurs!

oh yes, it works for water marks too!

now, its time to spring clean my side windows too.
