Meguiar's products prices.

Some local friends and i are wondering if Meguiar's products will be packed and or produced in different parts of the world perhaps South Africa,Asia or Australia?

It would be i think a great advantage for customers outside the USA.
As example NXT 2 Liquid wax is sold here in Mauritius at Rs.1450.00 this equals to 46.40US$.

Prices of other brands from Europe,South Africa or Australia do not differ much compared to countries where manufactured.

I have to agree - here in Australia the mark-up does seem a bit excessive. I understand there are shipping costs etc, but even still, it's ridiculously over the top!!!!

RRP here in Australia is around the $50AUD!!!
AUD$50.00 = USD$45.72!!!

This is daylight robbery!!! If I was in Equatorial Guinea or some other relatively obscure place of the world, where freight was a real issue, then I would get it - but I'm in Australia - yeah we're a fair way away from the US, but I know Megs imports A LOT of stuff over here!!!!

EDIT - I've tried purchasing these things direct from Amazon.com, but then it comes up with some sort of customs-related message that these things can't be shipped to Australia??? What the????

Working in US dollar terms....

That's a 343% markup on the UQD - disgusting!!!

The NXT - 254% markup on the RRP ($17.99)

Found another one that's not so bad.....or is it?

ScratchX 2.0 - Amazon.com sells for USD$8.88
Cheapest I've seen it here in Australia - Kmart - AUD$21.49

AUD$21.49 = USD$19.65 - only a 221% markup...

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Meguiars stuff.....but it's not fair!!!

No wonder a lot of us car detailing enthusiasts down under are going for Poorboys or Pinnacle or Menzerna stuff instead - we can get comparable quality product at a price that reflects better value!!!!

I did however spot a bargain - bought some Hyper Wash (473ml) for AUD$6 yesterday!!!

But that is very much the exception to the rule over here with Meguiars products!!!

Wonder why some entrepreneur doesn't find a way to import these products and make some money selling them for a fair price?
