  • D160 versus D162

Can anyone shed any light on the comparative superiority of either one of these two dressings? Since they will both ship to Florida, and I don't plan on using either as cologne or pouring either down the sewer, I'm not concerned about the "Green" aspect.

My main interest is in overall product performance, gloss level, longevity, ease of use, ease of removal and obtaining a pleasant uniform appearance, etc.

I suspect my main intent will most likely be to use the dressing for tires, assorted lower body moldings and maybe wheel wells.

    Thanks as always!

Go with the All Season Dressing, I have gone through gallons of the stuff. It will work great on exterior trim and tires. Its not really for interiors.

I havent tried SBD so I cannot comment on that.

I believe D162 flashes a bit quicker and has more longevity than D160. The downside to D162 are most states cannot get it due to VOC laws, plus its never in stock at ADS in the gallon size.

Not only an accurate observation/statement, but both issues are closely related.

It's the VOC compliant formula in D160 that not only makes it widely available but also causes it to not last quite as long as D162 - but that lifespan is a pretty fine distinction between the two. The observation that D162 "flashes a bit quicker" is also due to the VOC content that no longer falls within regulatory constraints of most areas.

So how to choose? Availability and price, really.
