Re: having a problem with tire dressing
Well, here is my suggestion.
I am not sure how dirty your tires were before application, but I think you may want to substitute Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner (that you mentioned in your previous post) with something like APC Plus, APC, and a good tire brush dipped in a bucket of car wash soap and water.
I used to use tire swipes but I would always be to rough on them and they would end up falling apart, it also seemed like the tire swipes would create a greasy mess IMO.
Now I always use a foam or microfiber applicator pad with whatever dressing I use. The only time I never manually apply a dressing would be when I am using an aerosol coating, such as Hot Shine or NXT Generation Insane Shine tire coating ( both of these come in aerosol cans)
If its a real pain to get in the grooves of the tire then a gel is probably not the best choice, on my BFG All Terrains I tend to use Hot Shine Tire coating or All Season Dressing. The Hot Shine Tire Coating is going to be the easiest for me since I dont have to touch the tire with any applicators whatsoever, I just spray it on and usually let it sit on overnight or for at least an hour.
Here is a picture of my tires wearing Hot Shine Tire Coating:

I tried using Hot Shine Tire Gel and Endurance High gloss gel, while it looked good it was just too time consuming to get in every single little groove.
I usually save my gel dressings for lower profile tires, such as these, by the way I used Endurance High Gloss on all of the following:

And if you have access to it, compressed air has a lot of good detailing uses, you certainly could try blowing out excess gel out of the grooves, the only problem is where it may land, hopefully not on the paint or wheels.
I hope this helps
