  • Steam Cleaners / Extractors

I just recently heard of car steam cleaners and extractors and had some questions about them. I'm looking to starting up a side mobile detail business so I want to get as much information about detailing products/technology as I can.

    1. What's the difference between the 2?

    2. Any pros/cons to using one over the other?

    3. Can any damage be done when using either one? If so, is it easy to cause damage or would you really have to try to do so? (basically asking "ease of use")

    4. Which brand steam cleaner/extractor would you recommend? (preferably something that's on the low end (price) but good quality that will get the job done)

    Thanks.

I think this may help you out a bit. From what I know a steamer could help you in nooks and cranies and really help dig up some grime. But imo an extractor will always be best for carpets and really pulling up the nasty stuff in them.

Thanks for the link! It did help a little, but it still didn't answer if either the steam cleaner or the extractor could cause damage? And how easy are they to learn/use?

They really arent going to cause damage unless you are trying to use the extractor on the headliner, the steamer can be used there but with caution.

All a steamer is is the steam from hot water, water is not going to harm any of your stuff. Now I dont have a steamer so I cant speak on its ease of use but a good extractor is not hard to use at all.
