  • Suggestions for spiffing an egg crate grill...

My Miata has a small, oval shaped, black plastic, egg crate grill on the lower front. Must be a bizzilion 1/2" squares, so a manual application of product is nearly impossible.

What would you suggest as a spray applied dressing to keep it looking new and dark black? It's, of course, surrounded by body paint, so I want something harmless to painted surfaces, or something which can be immediately wiped off the paint to avoid the possibility of paint staining, etc.

I saw that. Can't figure out the difference between these two.

Im not sure the difference if there is any, but I would definitely suggest the accent coating. I think you will really like it

I suggested Exterior Trim Coating because I have used it on exterior plastic panels. Great product - easy to use, and any overspray is a breeze to wipe off. I haven't tried the Accent Coating - I'm not sure what the difference is. I found Trim Coating at Pep Boys for around $6 or $7.

Either one you get, that's what I was going to suggest. Works very well.

                Aren't those grilles fun?

Our Neon has the little grille and I spritz some ASD or GCTD on a MF towel and use my finger to get into the grooves and what not, kind of tedious though......I thought of having it painted to match the paint.

OT: Paint it with some bumper/trim paint Aaron. I did that to mine as I got tired of the faded, chalky grey color. It's black and looks great. A must do.

You'll be hard pressed to find much difference between Exterior Trim Coating and Accent Coating, but you'll also happy with either in this application.

Hyperdressing, it basically applies itself. Just spray, wipe over spray with Last Touch and walk away. Plus you can dial in the level of shine you are looking for.
