This video from Meguiar's Asia shows a guy buffing out half a hood with a D.A. and U.C. Isn't that WAY too big of a work area? I always thought I should split the area up into smaller areas when working in.

Perhaps but that is a 7" pad. I'm no expert but it looks to me like someone drug a rotary across that hood on purpose in order to get those holograms.
