  • Clean/Polish/Wax under wing spoiler?

I have a wing spoiler on my 09 Accord Coupe and was wondering if I'm suppose to use a cleaner, polish, and wax for the trunk hidden under the spoiler. It may be an "obvious" no, but I just want to make sure. That part of the car may not be seen, but it still needs to be protected against the elements, right?

Here's a link to a picture so yall can see what I mean. (I dunno how to add a picture to this post...)

Mine sits up high enough that I can get under it easily to do any steps I want.

If you cant easily, you may want to go with the cleaner/wax option. Just try to do the best you can.

Oh yeah, my car also has a similar wing spoiler in the trunk lid... and yeah, you are supposed to treat the area beneath it as nicely as you would treat the whole car At least I do it.
I have noticed, that water spots form right under the spoiler, more than any other place in the car. So yeah, I would clean, polish, wax, and maintain. Yours look a little harder to access though, can you actually fit your hand it it while holding an applicator pad or something? Is very time consuming, that's for sure.

Aight, sounds good. I'll try my best!

JLMex, I actually haven't tried putting my hand under it as this didn't occur to me till just now! lol I dunno if I'll be able to clean very well under it but I should be able to polish and wax it. I'll let yall know how it goes next week! lol

I know what you're talking about. That is a tight area to access with an applicator pad. Any chance of removing it? Depending on the spoiler, sometimes there are just a couple screws underneath and you can just unscrew it and pull it off. Our 2000 Accord has a spoiler, but it's a wide enough space I can stick my hand under there.

I removed the spoiler on a Mustang once. There were just 4 bolts I had to unscrew and it came right off. If that's not an option then I guess just do the best you can. That's all you can do. Good luck!

I would just skip it, from the picture I think it'll be hard to actually apply a product evenly. But that's just me!

I would try to get as much waxed as you can reach. You need some protection there.
