Is there any hope for a sun faded finish.Or is repainting my only option. I recently bought a red 1999 Honda VFR 800 motorcycle that is in really nice shape except for some sun fading on the tail section. This is a Honda so of course this is painted plastic. Is there any hope?

There may be hope. Is there any chance of pics? Do you know if it is single stage paint, or clear coated?

In general, you would want to do a full detail, but you could do a test spot with something like SwirlX just to see if it helps.

Polishing is going to be your solution, unless a repaint is needed, but as a quick fix you could find a glaze with a TON of fillers and it should help bring the color back. Top that with a few layers of wax with a bunch more fillers, and keep a regular waxing routine afterwards.

The glaze/wax only covers up your problem, it solves nothing, but it is something you can do yourself if you don't own a polisher.
