  • When to wipe off polish/wax

Im going to be doing my very first polish and wax this weekend. Cannot wait

    1. But how do you know when to wipe off the polish/wax? Is there a certain time limit you leave it on for?

    2. When polishing do you apply then immediately wipe off?

    3. After I have wiped off the polish do you have to wait a few hours to start the wax or can you begin immediately?

    Thanks

Re: When to wipe off polish/wax

    Great questions,

In the Meguiar's line, the only paint care products that need to dry are the waxes, everything else you apply, work in and the wipe off.

As for finishing waxes, you apply a thin coat, allow the coating to dry and then use the Swipe Test to determine if the wax is dry enough to remove.

Cleaner/waxes are generally applied, worked in and then allowed to dry but some people will wipe them right off after working them and then apply a finishing wax over them.

On the forum homepage there's text link that reads like this,

Lots of good information in the above two forum groups.
