  • Meguiar's Cleaner Wax application

Can the Meguiar's Cleaner Wax (maroon bottle) be applied with a DA and a polishing pad? The surface is in excellent condition, I just want to clean it up and protect it.

    Yes.
Spread it at 2, polish at 4 or 5. Apply a thin coat. If you can see it, that's plenty. Let haze, wipe off with MF towel.
Be careful since getting it off of plastic trim after it dries can be a chore.

If I should accidently get some on the trim, what is best for removing it?

I used a quick detailer and a tooth brush, but it didn't work the greatest.

Here's a couple of links to threads discussing the problem.

Keep the polisher away from the trim and do those areas next to the trim by hand so you don't stain the trim works the best.

As I don't use a DA, I tend to detail one section at a time and clean up the trim right away. For example, work on the 2 left side doors, then go and clean the trim, and move on to the next section and repeat. As it is very fresh, sometimes it will come off with no effort, just with a clean MF towel, at most, I put a little water or QD I usually have a QD at hand more than a water spray. If I missed something and noticed at the next days, I use UQD, it comes out very easily. At least that's true for GC wax... I've used cleaner wax just once, but I followed with a coat of GC at the next day.
