  • G110 Availability Question and ADS response

Please find my original email and link below, and the ADS response. Does anybody have an inside track on this situation? Other comparable etailer options? I know PC is a fine unit, but I simply get befuddled with all the pad, backing plate options, etc. I just felt more comfortable with Meg's and I also find my accessory selection greatly simplified with Meg's for my first time with a DA and for the few times I'll find a DA necessary.I'd really appreciate your input on this one! Thanks a million! ( OR CAN SOMEONE FABRICATE A COMPARABLE PACKAGE FOR ME BY GOING WITH PC? ) I'm not lazy here, I just don't wanna make any mistakes with incorrect pads, too much aggressiveness etc. Just working on a few hairline corrections as they become apparent in the future...

    Thanks, again!

    Robert,
They are currently on backorder from Meguiar's. We have no other information at this time.

    Dear sir or madam,

*I'll be wanting to order http://autodetailingsolutions.net/g110-kit-2.html for Christmas.

Is this merely a temporary out of stock situation?

MOL is suggesting that perhaps a newer version of the 110 might be coming. Apparently, Meg's doesn't any longer show the 110 on their site. Do you have any details about this possibility? Hitting your cart button shows the following...
    • Meguiar's G110 Dual-Action Polisher Express Kit is not orderable.

That is logical. It could also mean that something else is in the works for SEMA. I'd suggest anyone looking to buy a G110 wait at least 10 days to see if anything new is being released.

Also, have you looked at the PC 7424 XP? It's a bit stronger than the G110 and has a 3 year warranty as opposed to a G110 with a 1 year warranty. I believe Rick also sells them at ADS.

If you really want the G110 just wait a little while. I heard that there will be a new G110 coming in November.

After November 3rd Rick will probably be able to give you some more information.

It's the same as used on a G110. By using that logic, you will be equally as befuddled with either machine.

What I'm trying to get is an aggressiveness comparison chart between the Meguiar's 2.0 polishing and finishing pads and the comparably recommended Lake pads. I'm not ignorant; just inexperienced and need someone with that experience to recommend a pad combination that would be equal to using Meguiar's 2.0 polishing and 2.0 finishing pads. Everyone drops off after the first sentence and doesn't grasp my dilemma which I attempted as best as I can to include in the original thread.

Meguiar's W8207 Soft Buff 2.0 Polishing falls somewhere between the Lake Country Orange pad and their White pad, probably leaning a bit towards the white one. Our So1o WDFP7 Diamond Foam Polishing pad is maybe just a touch below LC's White pad in aggressiveness, but very close.

Our W9207 Soft Buff 2.0 Finishing Pad is very close to LC's Black Foam Finessing Pad, while our WDFF7 So1o Diamond Foam Finishing pad is closer to LC's Red Finishing Foam.

You can use our W67DA backing plate with the LC pads and with our Soft Buff 2.0 or So1o pads, but our W68DA backing plate is really the better choice with our latest pads. Note, however, that our W68DA backing plate is probably not a good choice to use with LC pads due to it's diameter being too large for safe use with these pads. Both of these backing plates will fit the PC 7424, PC 7424XP, UDM, G100 or G110.

Re: G110 Availability Question and ADS response

I have never used the Flex foam pads, but I have used a couple of the Lake Country 5.5" CCS pads.

Meg's yellow polishing pad would probably be closest to the White Lake Country 5.5" CCS pad.

I have not used any of the Lake Country finishing pads, but reading Ricks site I would probably pick the Red Lake Country 5.5" CCS pad for my finishing pad for applying last step products (waxes or sealants).

Thanks Michael. That was extremely helpful information!!!

Now, can you possibly clear up the availability issue?

My suggestion would be to wait to see if a newer version of the G110 is coming soon. Then, stick with Meguiar's soft buff pads and the newer backing plate because you can take advantage of additional Meg's information such as this list of G110 speeds to use with different Meg's products and pads. http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37547 I am a believer in using one supplier for the best information and Customer Service help and warranty issues.....just one phone call to make.

I agree totally and that was my first intention based upon the identical logic. I'm only considering opting for the PC out of no clear answers regarding future availability. The plain ol' G110 package will meet my needs extremely well... Great minds think alike!!!

I have used LC CCS pads with M105 but swtiched to plain flat foam when I noticed micro marring (litte circles) caused by the pockets trapping polish in the CCS pads (my theory). I may have figured out how to make the CCS pads work but I had a flat foam pad and the problem instantly went away so I was happy so I recommending staying with flat foam types (Meg's, LC, etc) for M105 at least.

was this on a particular LC CCS pad such as an orange or yellow? These two pads are aggressive enough that you COULD get some micro-marring but it's easily removed during the next step after M105 when you finish up with M205 with a milder pad such as a white pad.
I HAVE heard of this issue from others with the orange or yellow pads although i'll say that I've never had the problem myself, at least not with orange pads and I very, very rarely ever go up to a yellow pad.
I use the LS CCS pads in the 6.5" size with my Flex 3401 and have had good success with them and i'm happy with the results.

always interesting to see various different experiences on the same products.
I'd assume that technique may play as one variable in this though.
