Hey everyone, I have a question on what products would give me show quality and best protection on all parts of my car. It's my show car and i have never really experimented with to many waxes and cleaners and just use a cheap walmart brand waxer/polisher. I do clay it often and wax at least once a month because it collects dust from sitting in the garage:[ Im not afraid to spend time cleaning and detailing so i will work the extra mile to get the show quality.

In my opinion all the meguiars products are top notch.

I would first start by washing with Gold Class, using a quality mitt and the 2 bucket method.

Dry with a few waffle weaves

Clay with Smooth Surface Clay kit

If you like you can use Deep Crystal Polish or jump right to NXT 2.0 or Deep Crystal 3. NXT will probly give you more protection.

    This should get you started

      Re: Need Opinions

If all you have been doing is claying and waxing, I would want a cleaner or cleaner wax in there. Try one of these:

      1. Wash
      2. Clay
      3. Cleaner/Wax - ColorX
      4. Wax - Nxt 2.0

      1. Wash
      2. Clay
      3. Clean - SwirlX
      4. Polish - Optional, but DC Polish is a good option.
      5. Wax - Nxt 2.0
      6. Wax - Nxt 2.0

And of course wheels, tires, wheelwells, glass, trim, interior, metal work....

          Certainly can help.

If you were going to go the SwirlX route for the detail, you can try that first, then step up to stronger products if needed.

If you were going to go with the ColorX, then just buy a tube of the ScratchX 2.0.

Remember not to just wipe it on and off, they need worked into the paint with some passion to remove defects.

            Ouch!
If the scratches are very light, i.e. your finger nail doesn't get stuck when you rub it gently through the scratch, then yeah, it is possible that ScratchX 2.0 may be able to remove them, probably not with the first pass though. Make sure to wash and clay your car before using scratchX that will give you a better working surface and better results. And also highly recommended to use foam pads or evencoat applicator pads (Meguiar's of course if possible ), do not use terry cotton towels.

Then follow Murr's recommendation for the other detailing steps.

            Good luck!

Ill give it a try, there not finger nail deep and you can only see them in bright sun [ i know there from the cat ]. Ill probably just wash and clay the trunk lid to test it. If that doesn't work would i have to get a DA or someone who knows how to work a rotary buffer? Sorry for all the questions

Well, you can certainly try the strongest products by hand and see. If not, a machine may be needed.
