Got a G110 DA polisher for my birthday

My birthday was yesterday, and the wife got me a G110 as I had no polisher. Yay wife!

I went to look up some details on meguiarsdirect.com and they do not even have the G110 listed anymore. Is there a new model coming out at SEMA? It just got me nervous that it is not listed on their website anymore.

It came with one 7" soft buff 2.0 polishing pad (W8207B). I'm sure I will need some more pads. I will probably just buy a 6 pack of pads. Should I get more soft buff 2.0 pads or a different brand? I will only be doing my vehicles as needed.

Is there a new model coming out at SEMA?

I believe (though could be wrong) that a new improved/upgraded version is coming out, maybe G110 V.2?

It pays for those who wait....I hope that age old saying doesn't come back to haunt you. Or....you could always not open and use it and if they come out with a new one send it back and get the new one

You went this long what will it hurt to wait for 2 short or long weeks to return it ,or use it then , HARD decision but it is all yours!!!! Congrats on the present and the great WIFE !!!!!!!!!

I didn't know about it ahead of time. Also it was a gift so not as much flexibility there.

Also meguiarsdirect.com does not list any of the soft buff 2.0 pads either.

The g110 is pretty good - I would not worry about a slightly improved version coming out. Given the right techniques, the g110 can *really* polish - heck - just use speed 6 and UC if you have difficult to correct scratches (try gentler means first...).

If you are just a hobbyist it is going to be more than enough IMO.

I do not think speed 6 is recommended, and its not always the best idea to say a certain speed and product will remove difficult scratches.

Perhaps they've addressed the whole brush issue that the G110 was having while apparently using smaller gauge cords.
