  • Help! - Newbie purchasing detailing supplies

For those of you that have been at this for a while.....what would you recommend as a must have for someone starting out in detailing. I primarily want to take care of my cars. I am planning on going mechanized with a DA polisher. I would be particularly interested in good deals on "bundles" or "kits" that can be purchased online.
Thanks in advance for your help!

You probably want to look over at Autodetailingsolutions.com as far as bundles.

    But some things....
    1. Wash - Gold Class
    2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
    3. Clean - You likely want #105 as your strong cleaner, and then either SwirlX/#205?#80 as your milder cleaner.
    4. Wax - Nxt 2.0

    5. You can order a case of 6 pads... say 1 cutting, 3 polishing, 2 finishing.
    6. MF bonnets for removing wax with the cutting pad
    7. Lots of other MF cloths, towels, wash mitt, etc.
    8. And all the other stuff.... a Quick Detailer, Wheel Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, tire shine, trim detailer, interior protectant.
    9. Probably going to want an APC.
    10. Hmm....I am sure there is more... Something like Ultimate Quick Wax would be nice for after future washes.

Murr has a great list. About the only thing I'd add to it is Ultimate Compound, probably in place of M105. A little less abrasive but still very good. Reason I recommend it is that it can be bought locally.

Like the other have said. Ads would be the best place to get package deals. Very good prices. Good luck.
