Optimum No Rinse question...

I know this isn't a Meguiars product but a lot of us use this stuff.

Anyway, how dirty can your car be to use this product safely. For example, I wash my car once a week and park it in the garage at home after work every night. Unfortunately, this weekend was rainy and cold and I haven't received my ONR yet so I wasn't able to do my car before dropping it off at the transmission shop (a whole other story). Would it be okay to use ONR when I get it back towards the end of the week or would a normal wash be better? If I can use ONR, do you guys suggest blasting off the surface dirt with the hose on "jet" setting?

I've been using ONR for about a year now and really like it. But I always go to the coin op wash and spray it down with the wand before I come home and do an ONR.

Okay, so just use the high pressure rinse setting, right? Will that remove wax or not?

Sorry for all of the questions, I just want to get other users feedback before use.

Are you guys using ONR primarily to wash your cars all of the time or just during winter months like I was planning on doing?

BTW, I'm a bit nervous about scratching the paint so I've been watching Scottwax's video on how to do it. Oh well, I guess I have to take the leap sometime!

Unless it is really grungy and caked with dirt and salt, there is no need to take the car to the coin-op. Most of us who use ONR just follow the directions on the jug. Yes, I know it's all counter-intuitive, but magically it does work and safely, too. If you prefer, use the two bucket method with grit guards. Just be sure to gently wipe off each panel a couple of times before drying the panel. If you find that your drying towel is getting dirty, then that means that you need to rinse off the panel at least one more time. I usually go over each panel at least twice, whether it needs it or not.

So far, several very light passes seems to uncover the truly difficult areas which have responded to more applications of ONR. No complaints on the 22 year old paint.

[Been lightly applying just the tips of the saturated chenille fibers on the first pass. Hopefully, if I don't feel the mitt "dragging," I am not moving anything bad over the paint. It is no scarier than claying. If I had to, I would dip a clean waffle weave in the solution and lay it on any stubborn crud to soften it. Fear isn't in the instructions...]

I realize I haven't been around in a while but I figured I'd chime in on this one. While I wouldn't wash my wifes Expedition with ONR if we've been driving muddy roads, I have had it REALLY dirty and had great luck with ONR. If you are really worried, you can fill a spray bottle with the ONR dilution and use is like a pre-soak for the ONR.

Good advice.
I use a garden pump sprayer to pre-soak each panel before every wash - no matter how dirty the car is.
