Anyone using a Meguiars wax over vinyl stripes? It appears that Turtle Wax Ice wax is the recommended product, but I would like to stay with a Meguiars product if possible.

Re: Wax on vinyl stripes
You could try M26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax, which is a carnauba, as it dries clear and not white.Shane

Re: Wax on vinyl stripes
I have experience with vinyl stripes on RVs over the years. All vinyl is not equal. Some vinyl manufactures OK waxing their stripes and some do not. In some cases, wax has caused the stripes to dry out and crack and fade. I learned the hard way. A dealer that was not knowledgable told me to wax my stripes. MISTAKE! If at all possible I would seek the vinyl manufacture and ask them.Barry

Re: Wax on vinyl stripes
I've put Meguiar's waxes on my aftermarket vinyl stripes and it didn't mess them up. The ScratchX and the sun beating down on them, on the other hand...
That's one bad thing about white stripes, at least the ones I have. They were pretty cheap (only about $40 for the vinyl, and a friend installed them for me for free) so that might have something to do with it, but they get stained very easily with bird dookey, pollen, dirt, or anything like that. I had to use a paint cleaner on them several times, and I think that's what did them in...they eventually started cracking. The ones on the tailgate didn't crack, so I know it's not the wax that caused it (I didn't have to use a paint cleaner on them much, if at all, and the sun doesn't beat on them as much).Lydia's Mobile Detailing
